Tamarack Junction's Summer Solstice Splash Down

Hot dogs splash down at the Summer Solstice Fun Jump and Competition

June 21- 22 at Tamarack Junction Casino

Tinka Flying High Reno, Nevada. Dogs fly high for fun and prizes during the two-day Summer Solstice Splash Dogs Fun Jump and Competition June 21 and 22 at the Tamarack Junction Casino in south Reno.

“Dog diving is becoming one of the Country’s fastest growing dog activities because its driving force is fun and it is open to any dog of any size that is in good health and loves to chase toys,” said, Bob Harmon, president of the local dog diving club, High Desert Dive Dogs. “The fun and excitement is equally enjoyed by the dogs, handlers, and those who just come to watch.”

The Splashdown begins with an open Fun Jump from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday June 21. The Fun Jump is a free event sponsored by Tamarack Junction to introduce newcomers to the sport of dog diving. Any dog with a love for water, its toy, and some high-energy, fun exercise is encouraged to give it a try. Registration is on a first come, first served basis.

Immediately following the Fun Jump, the Splash Dogs showdown begins with competitive jumps at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

The flying border

Competition jumps will also be held at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday morning with the top dogs competing in Junior Handler, Open and Pro Finals starting at 2:00 p.m. Top finalists receive prizes from Scraps Dog Company and Discount Pet Food and Supplies.

This dock diving event for dogs is presented by Tamarack Junction Casino, Splash Dogs, and northern Nevada’s own dog diving club H3D (High Desert Dive Dogs).
